The easiest way is getting a Crane spring tool as it lets you remove 2 springs at once but I don't know if you can get one as Crane went down a few months ago, plus it's expensive.

A cheap alternative is Tim's tool, try a search.

Stay away from crowbar style spring compressors, you'll thank me later.

Try to find somebody with a Crane tool that you can borrow. Send me a pm if you're in Alaska. I loan mine out, in exchange for beer.

i couldnt find mine earlier this week so i had to make one. not the prettiest thing but it worked to remove them fast i used the normal screw type to reinstall them but its faster to remove the springs with a fulcrum type.

The craftsman one looks like a good idea I wonder if they'll warranty it when you're done Secondly I don't like the screw down types, they nick the springs sometimes and that always worries me for a spot that the spring may crack and or break.

I have done plenty of spring changes with my tool from Crane and I am very happy with it, the fact that it does two at a time is nice and saves quite a bit of time. Well worth the $110 IMO. I have been working on engines for over 10 years and to this point it is the best valve spring tool I have used.

I just got a Crane tool from Vinci Hi Performance. He has them on sale for $119.99 vs 129.99 regular.
I have not used it yet but it is recommended by lots of people.
