Any info on this tranny yet?

found this word byte:
the input torque ratings I have seen as rumored for the 6L80E auto tranny is 520ft/lbs....

this could be one sweet-*** swap! I bet the Radix would like an A6 quite-o-bit

 

6 speed automatic. NICE

 

Hmmmm. That is very interesting. 6 speed auto sounds cool to me. The allison shows that 5 gears works pretty well.

 

The only thing I know of that puts out just under that limit would be the new Z06 ....

 

1/3 more parts to break. LOL!

 

What's funny is today I typed out a message on the SS forum and typo'd 6L60E when I meant 4L60E. I thought to myself, WTF is a 6L60E?? Then you make this post. Weird...

 

Looks like a swap for someone in the future

 

i know chevy has come out with a 4L85e. is it up on their site ready for sale.

 

6 gears might not be the best thing for 1/4 mile racing becasue you have to make that extra shift. I bet that would make around town driving soooo much better though, no more lugging, dropping and screaming.

 

the 4L85E has been out since 01', no new news there. the 6L80E i haven't heard about yet, but it's likely just a programming change. there are kits out there to make your 4L80E have 6 speed capability...
