Tuning issues......
A little background: I have a 99 silverado (NBS) with a 5.7l ls1 out of a corvette in it. I had a company dyno tune my truck (supposedly) and after purchasing hp tuners can see they used a 2000 GMC 5.3l VIN and OS for the base. The serial number on this vcm comes up as yyyyyyyy so my HP Tuners will not license it. Keep in mind it has been tuned before. I have also tried to reflash this with a tech 2 but it fails every time?????????
I also have a PCM out of a 4.8l 4wd 2000 chevrolet. This is licensed by my HP Tuners, but it won't run my truck. The transmission will not engage (I assume this is because it is a 4wd).
What do you guys think I should do to get started tuning this dang thing? I would love to use the PCM that is already licensed, but don't understand enough about this to know what to change yet. If I use the PCM that is in it, my only option appears to be a full year model license.
I'm confused Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

You should be able to use the PCM you already have licensed. I don't think there is any difference in the transmission operation from 4x2 to 4x4.
Can you post up the tune file for the PCM you have licensed?
On another note it sounds like the place that did the dyno tune locked the pcm so it can't be altered that is probably why you can't license it. You could talk to them and see if you can get it unlocked it that is the case.

Here is the file,(initialtune), but when I use this pcm the transmission won't engage right and the indicator on the dash stays on D all the time???????
I have also attached the file that I am using but cannot license. It runs fine.

The first one opens with no problems it appears to be for a Manual Trans VIN#1GCEK14V9YZ204251
The secound one has alot of errors like the the VCM ID and Tire size error did you go back to your dyno tuner?

I totally missed the manual tranny
I haven't contacted my initial tuner, I'm kinda pissed at them right now . The VCM id is the reason I can't license it, but I can't seem to find anyone that knows how to fix it.

I think I will try to get the other PCM reflashed before I spend the 6 credits on the year/model license. Is there any year that would be better than another to flash to? That is unless someone has another suggestion

They used hp tuners, I don't really know how the crap they messed it up though. Anyone know what could have caused this or how I can go about reflashing this PCM?
