I wanted something that was quiet at idle and cruise (no droaning) and sounded pretty tough when I got on it. Rick @ Synergy designed and built me a system that IMO does everything I wanted and lets the turbo's spool up fast with minimal backpressure.
I'm running 3" with mandrels from both turbos to a X-pipe back to two Random Technology's 3" SS mufflers (pretty close to the stock position but mounted side-by-side in a vertical layout. Both Randon's have 3" mandrell tailpipes going to the rear bumper with twin 3.5" tips on each tailpipe (M5 style). Had to pull the spare tire for space. I'll try to post some pictures this evening. Our work server doesn't let me open my online photo alblum.

Rick_Vor- would love to see that set up. all of it. seeing we have the same trucks.LOL i have been back and forth with runing 12-13psi on my 10.2:1 forged 370. but everybody is saying that it want be a good thing. my stock motor let go at 10psi but it was lean. now that i have my truck in 2wd i will be able to tune it better.
just give me your 2 cents.......?

Because of the way I set my truck up there is a big difference yes. And in most turbo systems you'll see a couple psi difference with a cut-out depending on what kind of exhaust you have and where you place the cut-out. Because I wanted a real quiet truck when in traffic and around cops I stuck with a stock muffler which doesn't allow too much pressure differential accross the turbine. But with the cut-out 6" from the turbo outlet and before the cats and muffler I go from a max of 7psi with it closed to 18psi+ with it open. And obviously the power is very different...as you can imagine, it's about 400hp/tq difference but my set-up is extreme. My truck doesn't really wake up until I hit about 10lbs of boost anyways... again, cam choice is critical on low compression engines.
Alright, i can see why it is a significant difference for you. I was thinking about putting one in, but i don't want to have to adjust my boost controller every time i open it.
what kind of boost cont. are you guys running. i had a spect 2 on my sts and did not like it. to hard to run. im looking for a manual boost cont. what yall run

This is some shots of my kit while it was still in Rick's shop truck. The shot of the tips is actually my truck. Rick does first class work.
Do you have a single or twins? If you have a single, I guess you could do a single 4" into dual 3" Y but it may be an overkill. Hope this helps.
