Default 5.3 dyno results with tr220 cam

This is a buddy's truck.. He had a ls1 hot cam pile cam that made

331 hp 316tq

Put a TR220 cam in and made with just the cam change 350 hp and 353 tq

mods
2004 gmc ext cab 2wd 80,000 miles
ASP PULLEY
S&B lid
tr220 cam
B&B catback
stock heads stock longblock
Pacesetter headers/Ypipe (no cats)
Trailblazer convertor
ported tb
on 20inch SS wheels

I am.. he is happy as well..

This cam works very well with these 5.3's..

Pretty much seals the deal for me, that will be my cam.

im sure the push rods are hardened and the valve springs are definately not stock with that cam....im runnin the TR220 with the 918's and 7.4 comp rods

very nice #'s!
looks similar to mine except i put down 340/340 SAE

this just goes to show everyone that it doesn't take a big cam to make good power. the good thing about this is you have excellent torque down low and it can still pull up top too. funny thing is these lobes are well over i'd say at the least 7 years old. i'll also go ahead and say it is probably the best off the shelf cam for the 5.3.
