Default 4.3l turbo budget build updates

this has been an on going project for about 10 months or so now. we finally got the turbo on and some tuning done.

the build is a built low compression 2000 4.3l with port and polished vortec heads. we used syty manifolds and a mpt70 turbo. we installed a marine intake with 60# injectors. also swaped the old style pcm for a 0411 pcm for 3bar tuning. we are currently runing 6psi. our goal is 15-20psi with meth. here are a ton of pics. i will try and label them as i go. remember this was a budget build, so we got things where we could. the marine manifold was only 199 on ebay. i took some pics of the way i installed it too.

So you were able to use syty manifolds without modifying them? What about the cross over tube, did it clear the oil pan and power steering pump?

now this is not the final product he is going to clean some of the stuff up and relocate a few small part. like the boost gauge what not. with just 6psi it pulls hard its actually kind of amazing. its pretty cool. some of the charge pipes are from a sts kit. others came with the IC. the down pipe and exhaust is left over parts from here and there. turbo came from kbracing. the wastegate is from a used sts kit.

well at first we thought we were screwed. but then we flipped the cross over around and sure enough it worked good. we had to cut off the random metal stick that comes up off the driver side motor mount. we had to cut it down as low as we could. we also had to bend the power steering pump line that curves around the back of the pump. it was in the way of the manifold itself. later we plan to replace it with just a braided line. other than those two things it worked great.

A little update, we were playing around with a buddy with a hemi ext cab ram truck. it has longtube headers, true dual 3" exhaust, intake, tune. the silverado was running 6psi shifting at 4500rpm due to fuel pump not having enough fuel above that. when he shifted to 3rd it blew the clutch apart. funny thing is we were walking past the hemi. it was great. now he has a spec clutch, the guy said it should hold around 700-750fly wheel ftlb.

now we need to get the pump installed the 60's were at 110% duty cycle by 4500 rpm. fuel pump couldn't handle 4.3l with 6psi. pretty sad.
