'06 Dmax CCSB 4x4

No the only difference between the 06 and the 06.5 motor is the block. GM put everything else in the motor and made the same changes for the cooling and breathing. They just waited for the new block to increase the HP and TQ.
Plus the 06 lly is staying in the 6 speed manual trucks, they are not getting the LBZ motor. So there will be plenty of parts and accessories for the 06 lly.
Plus, it's an upgraded package from the 05's, including the 6 speed Allison tranny.

TA Dave,

Copy and paste the link.
Some differences that will effect programmers.
Bosch 32bit processor FMU=harder to crack, manipulate, and figure out.
Common rail pressure up from 23000psi to 26000 psi
Compression ratio 17.5:1 down to 16.8:1
Higher boost levels.
Different EGR system.
These are just to name a few of the changes. I'm sure someone will come out with a programmer for the 06 LLY but the trucks equipped will be limited in number so business's trying to make programmers for them and money off them won't make them a priority.
BTW Edge has already said they won't make a box for the 06 LLY. They're just gonna wait for the LBZ.
Just my .02
Rich.

Taken from The Diesel Place forums... This is updated info from last week.
"I finally got my questions answered after speaking to GM Powertrain via phone today. This is what the man had to say:
The early '06 models are indeed an LLY with all the revisions that are going to be included w/ the LBZ. They strengthened the block somewhat, lowered compression ratio,7 hole injectors, pistons, new glowplug controller,PCM,heads, internal parts, specs (except horsepower rating due to lesser block) are the same as the upcoming lbz, with the exception that the LBZ block will be beefed up even further,i.e,mains, journals etc."
