Agreed.
HP and TQ numbers don't carry as much weight as a time slip.

Dude if you have a built trans, that like the golden ticket for diesel mods.. A similarly equiped Common Rail with a built trans will do the same. We had a 05 6 speed with a Smarty, FASS, AFE, Southbend Clutch, water/meth and 5" exhaust do 535/1102. I bet if we dropped the water/meth and stacked the Smarty with another programmer, we could have easily done 570+

Thats why the quickest diesel in the world is a Cummins powered rail
Thats why the fastest diesel in the world is a Cummins powered Dakota
Thats why the quickest street driven truck in the world is a Cummins powered Ram

And how many of those 3 trucks holds the Diesel HP record?

BTW, I'm not against cummins, I just think that the time slip is more important than the dyno numbers.

I don't get it...You say time slips are more important than HP numbers yet TchargedLS1TA claims that the quickest, fastest as well as fastest street driven diesels are all Cummins (which to me means they have the quickest timeslips) and your response is "how many of those trucks hold the Diesel HP record?"
To me it sounds like Cummins holds all the records, top HP, TQ and track records. I don't know much about which diesels are better than others just confused as to what your claiming.
Thanks

I was meaning simply having more hp than another truck doesn't make you the fastest.
The whole conversation was over HP/Tq numbers and i was simply stating that to me, the timeslip is more important than the dyno. Does the cummins with the hp record also coincidently hold one of the speed records?

Had nothing to do with if chevy or dodge was faster or better.
Props to dodge, they've always been my fav in diesel standings.

Regardless, I just love it when a truck can get out there and lay **** down on the track.

i have no preference to onen or the other but i think one reason the cummins is putting down better numbers is because the duramax hasnt been out as long and there arent as many people pushing the limits

The problem with having the most HP, is getting it to the ground. The guys with the highest HP records would more than likely snap their drivelines with the amount of power and torque they are making- plus they are dyno queens.
The fastest trucks I just listed are all owned and operated by a big bucks diesel performance outfit- the fastest rail owned by ATS, the fastest truck owned by Banks, and the quickest street truck owned by TS Performance
