Most of the stock C6 Z06's i see run at the track run mid to low 12's at around 118-120 mph with your average driver. They are very driver dependent. They arent unbeatable.

A mid 12 is a pathetic time for that car, it looks like they are launching poorly by the mphs. Better times:

11.01 10.85

I would never say a car is unbeatable, I'm just saying that's a tall order for a truck.

I have seen the LS7 models run alot of 11.40 to 11.60 range and the LS2 models run 12.60- 12.80 range...

jmproductions- first off why you talkin $hit about diesels when you don't even have one.

It makes a big differance when you put it in 4wheel drive and build up about 10lbs of boost before you launch. You can beat pretty much anything on the street. When I raced the Z06 it was on the street from a stop light and then again from about 65 to 100 on the highway. He lost both times!

Hey I'm not talking about diesels in general and no doubt your truck is very fast. If you can beat this car off the line then fine I can chalk that up to sorry driving in the Vette. But if I was you I wouldn't be boasting that you can take a new Z06 on the freeway, it's a ridiculous claim and you're only insulting yourself to say that. Keep in mind that a lot of people will put Z06 badges on a C6 just to look cool so who knows what you were racing. End of hijack... sorry.

Even a regular C6 with a decent driver on the freeway is hard to believe. I got walked on by a bolt on C6 in my Dodge, and it was from a 70mph roll, right in my powerband in OD..

I find pulling a z06 on the freeway hard to believe. Out of a dig I can see a diesel pulling the hole shot but from a roll it's a little hard to believe. Not saying it's impossible because I've never tired it but due to the factors involved, also from a roll it's HP that matters not TQ.
It'll take more than 511rwhp to pull on a Zo6 from a roll. I would think you'd need more than 700rwhp to even out the power to weight ratio and then you'd need to take into account the drag coeficient/aero dynamics of the two so...I dunno, hard to believe.
This is JMHO though.

I think it was a bad driver mod on the vettes part, or its possible he was pushing more hp than he thinks.
When my blazer was stock i got pulled hard by a stock 96 cummins from a 70 roll. After I put the v8 in it I went against an 02ish F250 with a programmer. I dont' know what he had it set on but he had to have one to hit the speeds he hit. from 55 roll he spooled and we go, i had 2 or 3 on him by 70 and about 6 to 8 by 90 and he stayed right there until i backed out. My speedo in that thing only goes to 90 and i was still accelerating well past 90. But thats just the Powerstroke.
My aunt's BF claims to hang with and even beat Some vettes in his 03 F250 with the 7.4 and a programmer. But that's the regular vettes. As far as putting a z06 badge on a regular C6 theres a very noticeable difference in the body style. Just gotta pay attention.
All in all it just comes down to your setup and driveability. Stories are gonna go both ways. I've lined with a C5 from a roll when i was stock and it was mind blowing how fast they are from a roll.
