IMO go with an 06/07 LBZ duramax, best power, mileage and looking. How important is a warranty to you? The LMMs arent bad motors, they're actually the exact same motor as an LMM but with a shitty exhaust and different injectors, other than that they're basically the same motor.

Click on my garage for the mods I had on my old dmax. With it unloaded on 35s running 75 Id get a little over 17, pulling a jeep on a trailer running 75 Id get around 14.5, pulling my 5th wheel around 70 Id get mid 10s with that wind sail.

You cant go wrong with a Dmax, I shouldnt have gotten rid of mine, and Ill be getting another in the near future.

I only want an LMM next time around because I like the interior so much in the newer trucks and teh GMC is sexy

the reason for bad mileage on the nbs diesels is the particulate filters. which is going to be standard within a few more years. right now here in ca, any diesel made before 85 or 86 can no longer be registered here in ca. every year the laws get tougher . in a few years every truck will have to have a particulate filter which costs about 5k to install one on a non factory dpf truck.

think about it though , get a new pipe, delete the dpf . make tons of power with better mpg .

LB7 they maybe known for injector issues but there older cheaper to get your hands on NO emissions crap to screw up and the best millage of all of them both based on 75mph on freeways 20MPG empty and 16MPG weighting in at 14,300pounds on the scales

LB7s get great mileage but cant really compare power wise mod for mod to an LBZ. I got close to 20 on 265s with a corsa exhaust and an EFI tune. No emissions crap on LBZs either, they have a cat but thats not that big of a deal to get rid of with an exhaust and in Texas its not a problem.

Id say maybe 1mpg, get a good EFI tune in it and a turboback exhaust and you can get a solid 3mpg easily.

I have had my lmm CCLB dually for a month or so and i have put 3000 miles on it and I am averaging 12-13mpg around town and 15 on the highway. Towing is a different story. With a 9k lb trailer i am getting between 8-9 around town.

nope. this is my company truck and its not worth loosing the warranty and I dont pay for the fuel that goes in it. But I had planned on buying a ccsb 2500 to use around the house and this truck made up my mind to find a low mile lbz.

I have an 08 LMM and get a consistent 16 - 17 mpg, mostly highway driving. I like the new body style a lot, especially the interior. Most pre-DPF DMAXes will get around 20 or better highway driving. Our 06 3500 single axle 4 X 4 at work gets over 500 miles to a tank of fuel.

A chip and DPF delete on the LMMs will get you 20 mpg for sure. Warranty will be void with a chip and exhaust modds, but who wants to remain stock??
