Default 2011 6.6 tuning and exhaust

Have a couple questions regarding these two topics.

First, I just wanted a little more sound from my diesel. The exhaust is really quiet and wondered what y'all recommended I do. I don't want to invest in a ful, exhaust or anything major, just to get a little more sound. I was told by a local shop that a muffler or modification isn't really a good option, not sure why.

Second, he also stated that there isn't much in the way of tuning the new engine and their attempts at it lead to over heating for some reason and they just gave up on tuning them. Is this really a problem as far as bully dog tunes for the new duramax engine?

Thanks for the help. With all of the changes to this year's engine, I am having issues finding any info on this.

Hoping for handheld or local tuner.

Ok, so here is the low down on the exhaust. Apparently they placed the filter in the very back, where the muffler(s) would usually be. This puts a bit of a monkey wrench on the entire thing. I think what I going to do instead is just replace the last part with chrome to polish off the look of the truck. Won't change the sound, but a chrome pipe will pop compared to galv. steel

Well, I ended up going with a Diablo Power Puck. Hard good things about them from a few guys and it does what I am looking for. $300 too, so not too bad.
