One of the guys that works in my shop has a 3500 Duramaxx. He has intake, exhaust and some sort of programmer and gets 26 unloaded.

Im in our 2007 GMC Classic CCSB 4x4 company truck.
We have a 80 gal aux. fuel tank in the bed.
I have prob 500lbs of test equipment in there also.
I left this morning and i averaged 19.1mpg (DIC) from Crystal Springs, MS to Franklin, KY right at 500 miles.
Its bone stock so i figured that was some what ok doin the speed limit the whole way... (hey i get paid by the hour.. haha)

Im goin to get some Lucas diesel Treatment and see if it helps on the way home.

I would tune it but i have no clue about diesels unless somebody wants to help me out....

Funny this thread came up, I was just doing some highway trips last two days and decided to see what I get on the hwy.
Little background; my hand calculated average is around 16.5mpg right now. My DIC is reading 15.9 so it's fairly close. It's always within about .3-.5 mpg.

So I get on the Hwy and reset the DIC and cruising on flat ground at 70mph I get about 21mpg.

Weird thing is that I get better mpg at 70 than I do at 60mph. At 60 I get around 19.5.

Truck is completely stock except for about a 100HP tune.

Im getting around 17.5-18 running 75 on 35s with exhaust and a tune. I get about 14.5 towing 6K at the same speeds, not too shabby IMO

Took a short trip yesterday avgeraging 60-65 mph in my 06 dually. DIC said 18 filled up and it was actually 19 on the nose. This is stock except for drop in AFE filter. I need abother programmer.

I get about 18 in town, and have seen 21 on the highway. I have a 4" turbo back, and tuning by me via Efilive. The biggest thing I have noticed, is your right foot like every other vehicle. If I can keep the tach below 2K on acceleration, this helps mileage tremendously. This is by hand figuring also. I am running 265/75R16, I have corrected the speedometer, and it is almost right on the money.
