Default 4" Turbo Back Exhaust

just bought my dad a 4" turbo back exhaust and i am installing it this weekend. They say i need to block the egr valve since it will take off the cat or resignator! How do i block the egr valve?

Who's exhaust system is it? What year truck is it for? Are you sure its not a front-pipe back system? Usually these kits are sold front-pipe back only as to not mess with the emissions or backpressure sensors..

We need to know the year of the truck as some of the LB7 and LLY don't come with a CAT. As far as the EGR block off plate there is a guy over at http://www.dieselplace.com that sells them. Do a search for EGR blocker plate and the Finger Stick.

it is an 04 duramax 6.6L 4door, long wheel base. The system is from warpspeed and includes the downpipe. I think these truck only have a resignator, not a cat.

04 or 04.5? If its got the LLY motor, send the kit back. That downpipe will screw with the Dmax's backpressure sensor and cause the truck to go into limp mode

it seems no one has had any problems. As long as you block off the egr valve. That is what i am unfamiliar with.

I've actually never heard of Warpspeed. All I know is the big name guys stay away from messing with any computer sensors, for reasons of avoiding any complications with the EPA and CARB and with the problems that you are having...
