My truck is an 03 2500HD. With e-fans, aux. trans cooler, shorty headers, full exhaust, CAI, free mods, and a tune it hauls with no real issues. Even gets a lil better mileage. The tune was by far and away the best thing I did.

I`ll report back how it turns out. I know it`ll never be a Deezul but even with the SC tune is pretty mild it say the least.
First weekend report. Running with no load or trailer.

Better throttle response, better acceleration. `Specially from 3000 up.
Downshifts are OK but I am going to ask Nelson to make first gear a bit more accessible.

Plus move the 1/2 and 2/3 shifts out a touch. That way the engine will be spinning a little tighter as it enters the next gear.

Part throttle and WOT throttle shifts are WAY to soft compared too how I had the truck set up with the SuperChips handheld. That has to change.

Sent them an email late on Friday so we will see what they have to say.

Part throttle downshift from 2nd to 1st.
Would like the trans to downshift sooner. At less speed and % of throttle opening then it does now.

I had a 01 6.0 CCSB 4x4 1500HD did a 210/210 555/555 on a 112 , Efans, push rods, springs, long tubes with a tune and it towed great. From 65/70 you jump into it and it pulled like a monster

I pulled a 21' bow rider i/o with a wake board tower several times and never had an issue at all.

Now I have a diesel and WOW what a difference

Update
Nelson sent a second PCM via overnight, on my dime of course.

The "new" PCM was programmed AFTER having talked with one of the techs and them reading the email I sent.

The first PCM had there regular towing package programmed in. Which for most folks is probably fine.

Nelson added a bit of timing, changed the timing curve. Both lower in the RPM range.

Bumped the trans line pressure. Moved all the shifts out a touch. Also made the downshifts more accessible.

At first I was happy but not overjoyed. But it was a quick run around the block. That`s it.

Now

After putting some 500 miles pulling the trailer and Jeep-7,000 lbs. And about 300 lbs. in the bed. The PCM has had a chance to adjust itself to my truck.

The bottom end performance is MUCH better. The shifts are firm but not harsh. The revised up/downshifts really help to make the truck pull better.

Mileage was not my first priority but SOTP looks good.

With this new revised programing. Can now honestly say that the tune was well worth it and would say that I am very pleased on how it all worked out.

you should look into a torque cam like the 210/218.
