I see the "smaller" cam puting out about 25 more lbs at the RPM range I want to be in. Nice flat curve also.

Going back to the Vinci shows a tossup between the 080 and the 043.

Interesting.........

the diesel is the way the go for sure, unless you have 8100... our 6.0L has the same gears as yours but on stock tires... its has issues too towing.. However its under warranty still so i just hold it wide open and let the rpms scream.. I know the car trailer and car on the back it love 6K rpms on hills... over drive on flat land, 2nd gear on hills...

If you are really looking for towing power, why don't you yank the 6.0L out and turn it into a 415 or Iron block 427. I think there is a sponsor on LS1tech doing the 427 shortblocks for around $3600. Just a thought, before you go and dump money into just heads and a cam.

Remember, there is no replacement for displacement, especially whne towing. I am sure your mileage won't suffer very much either.

i pull my jeep with my 1/2 ton and recently went to a smaller tire 285/70>255/75 and it made a ton of difference.I also have LT's and would have to say they helped out at all rpms.

you dont even have the 60's under it yet and it weight's 5k??? must be a square headlight thing

The tune was a good upgrade, get some LT's look for a smaller collector 2.5" and smaller primaries to keep the velocity and torque up.

I really can't complain about the radix on my truck, it makes about 500hp and 600ftlbs at the crank. I work a lot with another contractor who has a 07 NNBS 3500hd with a LMM My truck will blow his out of the water unloaded and with towing a heavy trailer it all depends on what gear I want to keep it in, and how much gas I want to use up...

A diesel will get better mileage, but when you load them down, there not too much better than the gasser, they will just tow it a lot faster.

Also if your really worried about how it shifts, just get a manual

The Radix sounds cool. And thanks for the LT help. Sounds like yours is a healthy ride.

Need to look at the big motors and see what all is involved. A 427 LSx would sure be nice.

After living with the tune for about a month now I have to admit is was a great investment. At some point I will have Nelson`s bring the 3/4 shift in a little bit. Just a bit to far out for non-towing. Love the downshifts. The engine spins up and starts making some torque without having to get to deep into the throttle. I`d even go so far to say that milage has improved....If I keep da foot out of it.
