Default Corsa Install on the 496

Finally!!!!

After F'in around with the shipping company for two weeks, who did a fantastic job by the way of sending my package across the country twice for no reason....I finally got the kit installed. I picked up the ECSB 2500HD TOURING kit with a single side dual 4" tip ( kit #14290). The kit was top notch as far as instructions and fit. Everything went together perfectly with no problems at all. Installing the kit would have been much simpler on a lift of course, but i dont have the luxury of having one of those in my garage.

Unfortunately by the time i finished up it was dark and it was raining outside so i didn't get a chance to run it down the road, but i did start it up and pull it part way out of the garage so I could give it a listen. I dont mean to sound like Peter Griffen, but man it sounds freakin sweet! All i could really do tonight was listen to the idle and a few rev's but it sounds just like i wanted it to....a nice smooth rumble and not to raspy at all. I will get some pictures and sound clips tomorrow.

Stay tuned.......

Is it my imagination or did you actually just post an exhaust thread with no clip? lol

Oh - and no lame camera sitting on the ground with an idle and a 2500rpm "rev" either! We want in-car with at least one shift and/or driveby. Thanks.

Nice and sunny today...

Got a few clips uploaded to the PC, but i still need a few more. I have a few idle clips, a few in cab clips, but still need a launch and drive by clip. I promise my next post will have attachments.

So far my my impressions are that is sounds great! It may not please the "sport" crowd, but i really dont want that, "hey come **** with me sound" anyway. Nice cruising tone and no drone what so ever....hard to tell it from a stock exhaust when cruising....at least from inside the cab. Next post....attachments....promise!

I don't remember that you were installing an exhaust to improve the sound. No mention of how it runs doesn't sound promising.

I was looking for a little better than "stock" sound too. I was also looking for a little free'er flowing exhaust, which i assume I have now. As far as the performance end of it goes......it feels great, but there is really no way for me to know for sure until i get it to the track and see how it does in the 1/4.

I did not loose any boost from what i can tell, still pegging at about 144-148kPa so if the exhaust is more free flowing (which I am sure it is), it did not effect the boost at all. I also pulley'd dow one size too for a few runs today which lead me to a few other questions that i will post up in the tuning section.

Okay, here are the sound clips.......dont laugh at me but i couldnt find anyone willing to hold the camera for me today, so i had to set the camera on the ground for the launch and drive-by clips..LOL. Got a few of the idle, a few in-cab, and a few walk arounds. Remember, my goal was low rumble idle, no drone (stock sound) at cruise, and mild rasp when gettin on it.....and i think thats exactly what i got! I know the ground shots suck...but it will have to do until i find someone who wants to hold the camera for me. Let me know what ya think....
