Default Duramax 6.6 Service engine soon light

My 2002 duramax 6.6 has the ses light on, with a tremendous loss of power. It runs like it is starving for fuel or that the exhaust pipe is plugged up. No power up the slightest grade. Top speed is 65 mph. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks All

I can help you but I need a little more info. It either sounds like a fuel system issue (when was the fuel filter last changed?) or the trans went into limp mode. Do you have any power adders on the truck?

Get the codes read, I can tell what they mean.

Thank you for the help. I'm still trying to get down to autozone for the analyzer. I will let you know the codes as soon as possible. once again, Thanks.

Depending on what code set the light it could have possibly went into "reduced power" mode. It will do this to save the engine.
