Im pretty much committed to the 3" setup now......just ordered LTs, ORY, some DEI heat wrap, and a Walker 36" Big Truck Muffler from Summit. Im going for an even quieter set up then the 22" Magnaflow that everyone is running.

Now I just need to see how to snake the piping in and around the crossmember after the 3" ORY terminates.

What's your budget?

I have the same truck and I went with:

-Pacesetter LT's (70-2265) and ORY
-Dynomax 3" flanged Intermediate pipe (53104)
-Walker 36" Big Truck Muffler
-4 Walker 3" lap joint band clamps
-new OE exh manifold gaskets
-And I found and 3" tail pipe section with a nice angle-cut tip at a local wrecking yard for $30.00

Got it all form Summit (except for the tail pipe section) and Im only in it $594 + 11.95 S&H

I just ordered the DynoMax cat-back system kit #19458 from Summit for $309.95. - specific for the 06 1500HD 6.0L. YouTube has plenty of videos to compare and I found the DynoMax Super Turbo a good starting point for my taste. Next was the Banks Monster single outlet; Magnaflow & Flowmaster wasn't doing it for me.

DynoMax has a $75.00 rebate going 'til 8/31, too. Can't beat that net price. This is the first mod purchased but won't get installed until I can get to the dyno for the full stock baseline on this LQ9.

My local Tires Plus had Bridgestone Revo's (first gen) in 285-70/17 for $169.99 so I jumped at those too (33" vs. 32" for the 265-70/17). Speedo recal pending.

I havent had a chance to put it all in yet, Im a working **** lately. It should be relatively quiet though....its a 36" diesel muffler.

I absolutely hate drone too. I think the trick is to not dump it right after the muffler. Make sure you run whatever you get out the back.

For the longest time I thought my all my drone was coming from my current exhaust (dumped Magnaflow), but it was my aftermarket CAI. The other week I put my factory airbox and resonator tube back on and 90% of that nasty howl is gone under hard acceleration is gone.

I'll try and do a sound clip and a bunch of pictures when I finally get around to it.
