Getting a new truck looking for suggestions on better gas milage?

the guy is only asking 16,500. And that's the cheapest I'v seen and most duramax's that come lifted like that are asking 25,000 and up and it also only has 118,000 miles
I am sure you can find a nice, newer truck with the same options and maybe a 6.0L for the same $$ and less miles. From what you explained it was, You shouldnt give more than $13k for it. At least, I wouldnt, not with those miles on it. Keep looking around for a better deal, you will be happier in the end.

I have a thread in the project section about "chasing fuel economy" So you can fallow my progress especially since I have a BB too(454). You can see my plans and progress.

Your truck I would get the least aggressive tire possible for your liking when it is time to get new tires, and inflate them as high as you can for the truck to still ride fairly comfortable(I am guessing 50 or so).

CAI, Muffler/exhaust should show some gains but keep everything cheap as possible. Build the CAI and don't get crazy with the exhaust, just a muffler should show some small gains without speeding $100s. Again look at my thread to see cost vs. pay back on each modification.
