Good bye 6L, Duramax here i come
So i have finally decided that its time to invest in an oil burner and kiss the 6L good bye... well for starters i was going to buy a 8.1L for the power took one for a drive loved the power it had. but the sales man wouldn't let me leave till i drove a carbon copy of the truck just with a duramax... I made it 60 feet down the road and was sold on the diesel truck so i need some input from the oil burner locals here the truck i test drove was a 2004 with a LB7 i know there famous for there injectors going but in every ones opinion what year and model of motor has the best reliability?

01~04 uses the same injector. I'd take the 04.5 LLy over the LB7. I just sold a 04 LB7 truck and had to have the injectors replaced two days later. The LB7 gets a little better fuel milage, but if you live at any altitude past 5000' they are dogs. The LLY, and LBZ with the VVT turbo will still do a boosted launch.

well I'm going for the LB7 it has new injectors in it and the factory ones lasted to 150 km the only thing is the trucks trans feels like its slipping and i pulled DTC p0700 so its going to Chev tomorrow and if there's nothing wrong i got the guy talked down to 13 grand Canadian if every thing turns out to be perfect when the Chev dealer gets to go over the truck
