looking for advice on lowering 6/8
i picked up a 2500hd 6.0L, my goal is around 6/8 and ive read that djm is good but not perfect..... so i looking whats the "better choice" if i piece things out to get where i need to be. i dont mind going in increments to the desired drop. i know there will be alot of options and opinions but im looking for ideas. i may even change out to a bagged setup later i just need this thing lowered already

The rear is going to be the easy part...using a flip kit and lowering shackles will be the easiest/best way..(need to notch frame)
The front is a little more difficult due to the torsion bar setup...I could only get my SSS down 5" to my liking....But you could try 2" spindles, 3" or 4" DJM lca's and either lowering keys or just crank the tb's down some...should get you close to your goal. You may have to buy/fab a set of uca's to get the alignment to spec...as well as some minor notching...

I have the DJM kit on my HD and it definitely is not perfect, but not as bad as some other manufacturers i've seen out there. Ridetech used to offer a air suspension setup, but I don't know if they still do. It was kinda pricey. McGaughy's has some good stuff, but you can only go 3" in the front with their stuff (spindles and keys). For 6", I think you need arms.

I tossed the DJM shocks right from the start. I'm running Doetsch Tech Nitro Slammers. I had to call them with extended and compressed specs, but customer service was good. Rides better than stock.

What year is your truck? Mine is an '08 so the specs might be different. I did the DJM 6/8" drop the pads on the axle are thicker than earlier years. This makes the flip kit a ~9" drop (the bolts in the DJM flip kit aren't long enough for '08 and up). I had to use keys up front as well to level the truck, making it a ~7/~9" drop total. I can get you the part number of the shocks they sent me but I want to make they will work for you. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to measure to see what shocks you'll need, but only after the kit is installed.

An '01 will be fine, but the shocks will be different than mine. What cab configuration do you have? If you have an ext cab, the DJM carrier bearing drop bracket sucks big time. I have not been able to completely eliminate my driveline vibration yet.
