What mods to boost TQ and pulling power?
Picked up an 01 2500 with an LQ4 and Im looking to boost tq and hp if possible. I dont want to scrifice tq cuz its my tow rig so Im wondering what type of mods will help?
Longtubes or shorties? <---- stock manifolds but I can get a set fairly cheap
True duals or y-pipe? <-----The truck has true duals with a 2in/2out flowmaster
Thanks!

I remember how much power I imagined I was going to get with the first mod I ever did to an engine, installing a performance intake manifold. It turns out that you need a blower to get the increase that is in your imagination. A cam will at least give you half of what you hope for in seat of the pants dyno numbers.

I pull with my truck and while the radix is great, I'd recommend an front mount turbo. A charger doesn't seem to match towing quite as well as a turbo. Primarily you need to keep rpms up to keep power up, where as a turbo will build power as the motor gets loaded, independent of rpm.

I'm only running 6.5-7lbs so that may be part of it. While pulling it will rarely ever shift outa OD so power wise is fine, but I have 4.10's to keep rpms up. Maybe I should have said a blower needs more throttle input instead of saying rpms.
When the motor gets loaded boost does't climb until you get deeper into the throttle. From what I've seen when sized right, turbos get into boost with a lot less throttle input from the driver. The blower has just as much power, you just need to feed it more, where as the turbo can lug a lot harder.
