june 23rd, huh?
I was just down there a few weeks ago for the detroit dragway reunion, but only as a spectator. I've never run my truck there (or at a track for that matter)!
I'd be pretty interested in seeing what it's all about. I'm guessing I'll be in the 15's... but who knows.
So, if I decide to head down, what is required? Just bring a helmet?

anyone else here in the northern oakland county/southern lapeer county area?

No helmet needed when running 15's.
Or 14.8.

ah ok, didn't realize that. I typically always have a helmet in my truck anyway though so I won't be without one.

I really have no clue what I could run with my truck, just didn't want to be too optimistic so I said 15's, might get into the 14's, no idea.

probably sound like a complete newbie to this, but any of you ever have any issues or concerns about your drive-shafts? doubt my trap speeds will be all that high, but just wondering, because I know they don't like high speeds... have heard plenty of horror stories.

oh, and what's the cost of running at Milan?

If running ~15 sec., that's around 90mph. I really don't see it being a problem.

$25 to run. Crap, I forgot & I know I posted it somewhere in this thread, but I don't feel like lookin for it. I griped they raised it by $5, but still, that's not bad. Unless goin by sheer percentage.

just looked at their site, says $25 for t n t, $15 for spectator/crew.

Can't say for sure if I'm going to be able to make the 24th, but I'd definitely like to, not only just for fun as a first-time on the track, but essentially to get some base numbers down before I do the 6.0 swap to compare to... just fingers crossed, knock on wood, that I do NOT break anything, because I cannot afford that right now!

hmmm, well ...looking like the weather might make the decision for me though, next weeks forecast doesn't look good at this point, but we all know how accurate that can be!

Ya, I haven't been on here alot lately & never had a chance to check, but u obviously did. I know all too well how u feel about breakin. That's why I was reluctant to go for a few yrs., cause I couldn't afford if I broke at the wrong time, until I had saved for my built tranny.

Anyway, if u show up on 24th, you'll be alone. That's a Thurs.
I checked weather for the actual day, June 23rd, 87° & rain, so June 30th would be better. July 7th as a backup date in case of rain on 30th.
