Default 408 build carb or fi

OK maybe someone in here can help. Ive got a 408 stroker motor. Need help deciding what to do either carb or fuel injection. Looked into doing Fast intake, throttle body, fuel rails. Oh yeah i have l92 heads on it. Am also looking at doing carb with the msd control 6010. If im putting this thing in a 83 short wide bed, want to drive on street and take to track on occasion what is the best way to go. And what are the pluses and minuses of either one. Any suggestions would be nice. I have a hard time getting anyone to reply to posts. Im pretty new to the whole motor building thing and need help so thanks in advance for any.

Well you can get a manifold for about $350 I think. Score a used 650 duel feed for around $75. Have it rebuilt by PC carb in Ontario Ca with a proform main body, up to 750 cfm for around $350 now. Plus it will be easier to get running, and more tolerant of not being driven.

Then again the fuel injected motors are a breeze to start up and to diagnose if you have the whole set-up, but the cost can be very high as I am sure your finding out.

But by far the biggest problem to converting to fuel injection is hooking up all the stuff which can be a bit intimidating. Where as a carb you only have to modify whats there a bit to hook up to your new set-up which saves money and a bit of time. Plus local mecahnics will be highly likely to help you since your only modifying the motor, and not the electrical system too.

I probily myself do fuel injected becouse I am a electrical tech for work, and I love the way fuel injection works. But if I could use a Q-jet instead of a Holley on a less then 450 hp build I would seriously consider it. They can be a bit trickey to set up compared to a Holley, but I had a couple I didn't adjust for 50,000 miles. Where as Holleys were touched weekly to keep in top tune.
