Hey everyone. I have a question for anyone who has an answer.

I am planning on swapping out my 5.0L TBI for a 5.3L LS engine. I really want to keep my 700R4 non-electronic tranny. Besides finding a adaptor, I should still be able to run this tranny setup with the new electronic engine without problems right?

I also plan on throwing a turbo and some boost towards it and was wondering what would make this budget build engine option bulletproof. Thanks

 

Just have a tune made that has a 5 speed automatic as the trans segment, then really all you will need to figure out is the speedometer stuff.

you will need a standalone tranny controller im pretty sure

but id say get a new tranny because your 700r4 is probably about ready to die if it is 15+ years old especially if you throw 350+ horse at it

 

get rid of that junk 700r4 just get a complete pull out that way you can spend less time running down parts and more time driving it

 

Yes get that old trans off. Install a 4l60E.
If not, the easy way is to use a ECU from a manual car.
