Default 74 gmc 3500 dually

I'm getting ready to pick up a 1974 gmc 3500 dually 3+3 crew cab. I'm going to use it to pull my car to the track. It has a 454 and th400 in it now and I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get a crossmember for a 4l80e. I looked on a coulpe sites like bmr and umi with no luck. I would like to run a 4l80 in the truck for the overdrive being I'm an hour from the track and I had to drive my camaro there once and driving with th400 and 4.10 gears isn't to fun for an hour ride.

ok eazyier question for you guys. when/did gm change from 16.5 rims to 16" on 3500 duallys? I have 16.5's on it now and their new but I'd like to put a different set on the truck and was hoping if gm changed to 16" dually rims if the would fit the truck without spacers.

This was my sponsor's tow rig till he got out of oval track and he just gave me one hell of a deal on the truck so I couldn't pass it up being a broke college kid.
