The 94 has been going strong for the past year. It tows excellent, and runs like a champ. I still have a few things to iron out, but the L33 was a great upgrade! Its averaging about 17mpg on the highway and has gotten as good as 19 on one tank. I still need to do AC, connect cruise control etc. But its been well worth it!

My trans is starting to slip in my 93 K2500, really need to source a takeout to drop in. Reading through this answered a lot of my concerns (namely what T-case issues were, as I don't want to re-do the 4x4, love my manual shift)... Now if I could just source the hardware cheap.
You happen to have a source? I would prefer to use a GenIV engine, as I have an LS2 cam I want to drop in.

Is your K2500 a 6 lug wheel or 8 lug wheel?
Glad you found some value in my thread. Where are you located? I have a junk yard I deal with. I would suggest against a Gen IV, just based on the fact that you will need to disable DOD in the engine to work properly with a different cam. You'll need an LS2 valley cover, timing gear, and LS7 lifters ( Gen IV truck lifters won't last over .500" lift.) You would be money ahead to just find a Gen III and pick up a used LS6 cam.
my $0.02

It is a 6 lug, so I should be able to mirror your swap almost exactly. I will be going gen III, as I scored a harness and ECU last night for $150 shipped. I also found a DIY for exactly what pins are and aren't needed, so I'll be tearing the harness apart prior to having any of the hardware, though I'll probably wait until I have it to put the harness back together. lol
Are the GenIII lifters any different in the trucks? I have access to a set of LS1 lifters with 70K on them from a cam swap in my buddy's GTO.
I'm located the the Milwaukee Area, most of the scrap yards I've contacted have the engine pulled, accessories off, etc. and they want $1200+, and at that point I'm gambling that I don't have all the nuts and bolts I need which would make the job a lot more painful.

I deal with Neal Auto Parts in Peoria, IL. Always treated me fair on a complete pull out, and they know how to pull one with out destroying it! Complete pull out, harness, MAF, air box, exh flanges etc.
No Gen III truck lifters are fine to leave in there. From what I can tell they are same as LS1, so your call really.

Just found a STUPID good deal on an engine and trans... but the trans is 2wd. Anyone know off-hand if my 93 output shaft and tail housing will swap onto a 2000 4l60e? Since the Tcase does, I'm assuming it would.. but I'd love for someone smarter than me to confirm. Trans has 45K on it, so.. it would be worth tearing it apart to swap.
Edit: got my answer. Shaft interchanges, housing does not.
