Default changing bolt pattern?

Does anyone know if the A body brakes will bolt to the 73-87 spindles? I seem to remember hearing this some time ago, but cannot confirm it. I want to use willwood or aerospace brakes on my c10 drop spindles, and the availability of lightweight and inexpensive wheels is vastly superior on the 5x4.75 pattern than the stock 5x5. The truck will be street strip, and I am looking to shed as much weight for the big block swap as possible.

I had asked about this on other sites, but I really didn't get any real solution. Most just said to check the bearing sizes and caliper mounting points. The best thing I could come up with was to swap on a set of aftermarket aluminum [1996]Impala SS calipers, but I'm not sure how much weight that would save for $450+ along with some drilled/slotted rotors.

Thanks for the thought. I talked to Aerospace components about having some custom made, and they said that it wouldn't be a problem. Just get them the measurement of everything, and then they would quote me a price.

On a side note, have you got any idea what your truck weighs? I never weighed mine when it was driving, and right now it would be too much of a pain to drag out and trailer it to the scales. Just curious.

Mine weighed 3800 with me in it.
If you don't mind, could you let me know what they quote you for the brakes? I've been trying to lighten mine up, but there's not really a lot to take off these trucks and not a lot of lightweight stuff to put on them either.

Yeah, not a problem. It will probably be a while though. what all have you taken out of your truck to get the weight down? I've got a couple of ideas that won't be too expensive.

I took out the inner fenders, the fuel tanks, spare tire/bracket, and removed the rear bumper. I bought my truck without carpet, so that probably helped with weight too.
