Ive got a 79 chevy with a 454, all stock. It has been hard to start when cold since I bought it a few weeks ago. Today it was abnormally bad but it did start. It ran real rough and quit on me as I was coming up to a stop sign. Then it wouldn't restart.

I don't ever really smell gas and when I spray carb cleaner down the carb it will fire up but wont keep running. The plugs/wires are good and I do have spark.

Ideas on what to look for or try? Thanks in advance!

Fixed. Soaked it with a bottle of carb cleaner and it seems to run 100x better. Its only been driven 30,000 miles in the past 10 years so its a little gummed up.

Seems like i've made plans for everything ive ever owned but nothing ever materializes. I guess half the fun is dreaming.

I really don't have plans. I bought it pretty much because I need to move and its my only truck at the moment. My ability is none (obviously) so its probably best I don't make plans.
