Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see what you are getting. I had a tiny pin hole in the tube that was between the pump and pickup assembly, had like 8PSI lol.

i had a 90 chevy tbi that would idle fine and then fall flat on its face once i took it for a drive i tried map,tps,iac,distributor,checked fuel psi, switched ecm's,last but not least i switched the injection unit with another unit that i had... problem was gone.... got some reman injectors fromFuel Injectors: Find fuel injectors, tbi injectors at Motor Man Fuel Injection Supply cost bout $100 came with all orings and gaskets...swaped them into original unit and problem solved... see if you can find an injection unit that works fine to borrow and swap that on and see what happens...

make sure you have good grounds from eng to frame, fame to body,and at the grounding location at the thermostat housing.. grounds do weird ****..

Leak down test and watch the compression and the rotor at the same time. if that motor has been tore apart the can can be indexed wrong. Try to set the timing at cylinder 1 tdc by using a piston feeler rather than the harmonic balanced. Also check to see if its pressurizing the antifreeze after all that. If its still running shitty watch your timing as you start it and rev the motor. It should advance a good bit.

Have you changed the fuel pressure regulator in it? That is a notorious problem that I have seen when I worked in auto parts, the spring becomes rusted and brittle, it breaks inside the housing causing it to run like a turd. When you remove everything on the inside of the regulator housing, give it a good hit with a wire wheel attachment on a Dremel, you'd be surprised at how much junk will come out of that thing, wouldn't hurt to hit it with some sandpaper too and clean it out with some carb cleaner or denatured alcohol.

Definitely need an o2 sensor. It'll run rich as hell without one.

I had a crack in my exhaust manifold that was causing my o2 to read lean and caused it to run rich and shitty. And ive been told tbis default to rich if the computer doesn't get a good signal from the o2 sensor.

Sounds like you probably have several problems compounding. Definitely check your cam timing and fuel pressure to start with, but nothing will do any good till you hook up am o2 sensor.
