Ls swap into '58 Chevy (noob)
I'm the planning stages of swapping a ls motor into my 1958 Chevy Longbed fleetside truck.
It already has a Ford 9" rear with a Detroit locker a 4.11 gears, I have a th350 that's going in as well.
The truck it's self is old school. straight axle, manual steering and brakes (it's staying that way). How easy would it be just set up the alternator as far as running a belt? I can't really seem to find any pulley set up with out power steering as well (alt is all i need).
Also anyone know of headers to fit the stock chassis? The steering box is on the inside of the frame so it's a little tight on the driver's side. A set of generic shorty ls1 headers might fit, but just curious if anyone has already tried this.
Any other tips or info would be great as well!

You probily could get by with camaro headers as there pretty popular or just try the manifolds that get and see where they land. Also there are block hugging headers for the LS, but it needs to be installed first.
As for the pulleys I know you can get shorter belts easily, but you'll have to play with the accesories to see what can be by-passed
