well i tore it down last night and it was the main carrier bearing that went out on the drivers side. and it didnt just go out it shattered. only thing left was part of the inner race and the outer race. Also found out why my truck doesn't seem to pull as hard as it should with this motor. It has 3.08 gears in it. So i'm going to get some new bearings, swap the gears to 3.73's, and try and find me a posi carrier for the rear end. And yea its 30 spline axles so they should hold up pretty good.

Does anyone on here had a set of 3.73's for my 10 bolt 8.5 rear end? Also anyone had a posi or a locker laying around?

haha hopefully after all this my rear end will hold up. Next to go will be my trans. I'll keep everyone updated on how it goes. looks like the truck is gonna sit in the garage for a couple of weeks untill i find gears and a carrier cause im tired of not hooking (not like 3.73's are gonna help that) but yea. thanks guys

i found me an auburn gear posi trac on ebay for pretty cheap and ordered some 3.73 gears and a richmond bearing kit for the rear end. Hopefully now itll hold up and i wont have anymore problems (untill my trans decides to give out haha). next i need to run new exhaust.
