Default Sealed beam HID project upgrade (91 suburban clip)

I do a lot of posting on fullsizechevy.com, but that site goes down like every night... oh well, but heres my problem, the lights on my truck just dont work good enough for me... if I turn my headlights off while driving at night, and then back on, I have to double check I pulled the **** all the way... they are bad. So this is what I've got working for me now:

I just thought of a way to attach the projector housing without a ton of work, such as molding a case or housing or welding some crazy bracketry.

I'm really surprized they dont make starter kits for this stuff... like generic housings that are snug to the projector itself and then you just carve away what you dont need.. oh well, I will just pass on that idea to the person who as the means to do so.
Tomarrow I plan on getting the lamp mounted securly. Unfortunatly this projector housing uses a halogen bulb, it is the same size/shape like the other one I have, but uses an HID bulb (and its bi-xenon). I have one of each at the moment, but this is the tester. One of the donor lams came from a 2007 BMW 5 series with halogen lamps and the other came from an 05 Z4 roadster with bi-xenon lamps.

After I had the 2 lamps together, I couldnt resist hooking it up the trucks battery and seeing the outcome. Well, needless to say I was grinning ear to ear. The glass part of the lamp is not "euro" clear, rather has lines and such on the inside. The cut off line doesnt seem to get distorted nor does the light seem to go everywhere. It might just work, time will tell
What are your opinions?

wow a 6.2L would be hard to pass up, but times are tough. I've been slowing tinkering with mine this winter. Its running pretty good.

Wondered about doing something to integrate HIDs on my '86. The OEM lighting sucks to the point where I put cheapo fogs to help illuminate the road more. Nothing compares to HIDs.

if the back of your headlights are metal like the 91's are (glass front, metal case) the retro fit is pretty simple once you know what to do and how to do it. if the back of your headlamp is glass, you would have to do research on how to cut/grind the glass so it doesnt shatter. so far im collecting all the projectors that i can, so far i have 2 bixenon and the one in my truck. still dont have a matching set. when i do whoo hoo. one is still way better than what i had, or it came with.

Finally finished the project, phew. Found a second projector on ebay for cheap. The second one turnedout better due to the fact I knew what I was doing and had more of a plan in stead of winging it. All in all it made the drive from Houston Tx to Orlando Fl a.o.k. The night driving was awesome, I was not afraid to drive at night v/s the stock headlights, and thank God no deers jumped out in front of me. HID FTW.
