Default truck keep running after ignition is turned off..

like the title saids....my carb 5.3 keeps running after the ignition is off, only when she is warmed up...could it be that the carb idle is to high, or something with the carb, if i have the choke pluged up it it does it longer then it does with the choke plug up....any ideas
i has an 650 cfm holley carb, eldbrock timing module

Octane booster won't fix a carb that isn't adjusted properly.

i adjusted the idle n put more fuel to the carb, an it stop dieseling....she over heating a bit...i fixed the bypass for the heater core on the water pump, just loop it to the other end, cuase im not running an a/c or anything i took all of it out...but she will get to 200-210 for a few mins then start going up to like 240,but slowy gets there, i dont think i blew a head gasket cause there no blue smoke or anything from the exhaust, well i dont c any,but i do have an exhaust leak, and its like a blue grey though..any ideas

I'm no expert on the newer cooling systems but if it's not routed right you will have air pockets caused by hot spots and it will do exactly what you are describing. I went thru that with my Vortec head swapped OBS Tahoe ... was a pain in the *** to track down and get right.

the brand and color of coolant shouldn't make a difference...does the temperature drop back down to around 190-210 after it gets up to 240 or does it stay high?
