Default Vortech 350 hiccupping

Hey peeps. This is my first real post. So my beloved '96 Chevy started puking coolant; the classic intake gasket break-down. So I replaced them, no problem. But when I was putting my distributor back in, the plastic housing around the front screw broke. I JB welded it back together. Cheesy, I know, but it should hold I think. But now it's hiccupping and missing at part throttle. Would it be that fussy that a partial misalignment of the cap to the lower distributor housing would cause this? Or is my timing just a bit off? It still starts fine, both hot and cold. Thanks for any help.
