8" exhaust... no problem!
#22
so, i pussed out, if you wanna call it that.
after 10k+ miles (of the 14k since I bought the truck), i decided to be a little nicer to the neighbors... okay, it was really more for when we're sleeping in the back seat on road trips... but i put the muffler back on in front of the stack. without metering, i'd subjectively guess it's about 6dB quieter (1/2 volume) than it was straight. the full exhaust brake whistle is still almost as loud as before, but it's toned down a bit, too.
as you can see, there's still enough room before the axle - i just had to turn it down instead of 45°ed out.
makes for a bit quieter cruising with the same deep rumble i liked about it before. approaching 2000rpm, it gets a bit louder.
