Looking for info on the 92/93 cummins
So I am seriously thinking about selling my formula here before the end of the year and trying to buy a Ram. I am leaning towards the 92/93 for price and looks but I am not against a 94+ truck. I just really don't think I can afford it. I need some info though and I thought I would ask in hopes of getting it answered or being pointed in the right direction.
Tell me everything I need to know about looking for a used one. Hahaha I know that's a tall order to fill. I just don't even know where to begin. I don't even know what to refer to them as other than 92/93 year trucks. Are the 92-97 12v engines basically the same? This will be rolling science experiment. I am working this summer here at UGA doing some biodiesel research and intend to put some of that knowledge towards a truck. I plan to run peanut oil through the engine as well. Is there a particular year that has stronger parts so as to handle the thicker oil? I want to say I was told the injector pumps on the 98+ trucks was not as strong. I don't know though. So I guess I need to learn the year differences of the engines.
Aside from the engine, what about the rest of the truck? Suspension, brakes, transmission that sort of thing. I know the 92/93s were prone to rust. I'm not looking for a beauty queen necessarily. I just need to know trouble spots and what are some typical problems to look for.
Thanks everyone. I appreciate any info even if it's a go to this link and read response.

Those year trucks were low on power stock, 185 I think, and only 360tq. Easily fixed though with a fuel plate, twist of the star wheel, some exhaust and a bigger turbo and your up over 400hp. They have the P-pump as its most reffered to, which, yes, is better that the VP44 pumps in the 98.5 to 2002 trucks. Only downside though is no electronics, so your stuck with pretty much one or two power levels all the time. Automatic transmissions suck as usual, 5 speeds are the other option and have a problem with the 5th gear nut falling off and going apeshit inside your tranny.
