Default Standard Shift Dodge Cummins Question???>>

I have a friend that has a highly modded Dodge Cummins truck but is stock (slow ***) shifter is killing him when he's racing. Does anyone make a speed shifter and short throw shifter for a 99 Dodge Diesel??? Thanks...

P.S.-- Even if all you know is somewhere I could ask people that amy know would be helpful...

With the short throw shifter he will be able to shift faster but will the clutch and and everything else allow him too..????

BD diesel performance makes a short throw shifter for the nv4500 5spd and the nv5600 6spd. He will be able to shift faster, but the gates are big so that will still slow him some, and I don't really see the clutch holding him back, unless the pedal is real loose or sometihng like that

I have made several short shifters for nv4500 5spd but what kind of clutch upgrades has he made if any? because for the most part on somthing like a southbend performance the clutch pedal is easier to push down than stock. Also if he hass the nv4500 5spd he may need to change out the plastic 5th gear which was made to make less noise for highway travel. If he hasnt already stipped it out. Also is it 4x4 or 4x2 3/4ton or 1ton?
