'96 Ram 2500 4x4 5.9L Gas...Mods?
I have a friend that has a low mileage 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with a 360 Magnum engine. He's looking for mods to improve gas mileage. He's added a K&N air filter and is looking for long tube headers. I've done some preliminary looking on the internet and haven't been able to find any LT headers for a 2500.
Would shorty headers be worth putting on if LTs are not available? Will the truck need a computer re-tune if he installs headers? I'm not Dodge savvy at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is there anything that can be done bolt-on wise to improve performance/mileage on this truck?
Thanks in advance!

i know the 2500 is a stronger frame but i would call passetter if your wanting headers they can tell you if the 1500 lts will fit usually they do an if your not worried about (pretty you can get the black ones for like 250 probably ) and taking the cats off on those year mold trucks for some reason ive seen will cause transmission problems that torque flight isn't the best any way. It will also kill your gas milage. IN short long tubes , Y-pipe with high flow cats , some type of full cold air intake, and a tune ) will be the best milage you can get electric fans cant hurt either .......... Hope this helps
ps if your not looking to start a project or race it super chips or bully dog 87 milage tunes are just as good as any for those years
