Default Dodge 2003 5.7 Hemi help...

I just got an almost brand new 2003 dodge single cab with the 5.7 L. I have put a magnaflow exhuast which dumps after the muffler and am trying to figure out what to do next. I had originally planned to get a superchips programmer and I am still leaning towards that direction. Another idea/second purchase would be a new k/n air intake. I know alittle about cars but you guys and girls seem to know alot more. Any advice/information would be greately appreciated. Thanks.

IDK if any one makes a custom tune for dodges but if your looking for superchips a custom tune would come out better.

No one does a custom tune for the Hemi trucks yet. The only two choices are a Hypertech or Superchips programmer. As far as the intake, the stock one is pretty darn good from the reading I've done. If you don't mind a little intake noise, I would go with the AFE CAI, it locates the filter down out of the engine bay so it'll draw in cooler air. HOWEVER, if you get alot of rain, snow and go off roading alot, I wouldn't get the AFE. I would then get the Volant, it has an enclosed airbox to keep out engine heat and weather. If I get a CAI, I think I will get the Volant, haven't heard any complaints from the owners.

I've complained several times about Volant on nearly every Doddge forum. They are pretty, but do not net you any gains. Colt, howz the programming coming along?

Coming along great. Truck is back from cam tune and is getting the big mods now Baseline dyno, NA with cam came to 314whp and they couldn't get the cutout to open . Tq was LOW but it was a 2nd gear dyno on 22's and with the new 2800 stall tc they expected it. They had a little trouble with it on the dyno, really wanted the 3rd gear pull. All I know is I've been told by the 2-3 people that have driven mine, and the truck with the smaller cam and Patriot Heads, say mine pulls a lot harder than the other truck with the smaller cam that pulled 318whp with a 3rd gear dyno. The guys speculate if we could get a 3rd gear pull on mine we'd probably see upwards of 330whp. I should get the truck back in 6-7 weeks- then it gets interesting...
