Default Hemi into a '85 1/2 ton?

Because I am really a Chevy guy, I don't know much about what will and wont fit. My '85 dodge 1/2 (which is very clean and stock) auto has a 318ci motor that is dying. would it be feasable to stick a Hemi in it's a place? or is there an easier/simpler/cheaper way to get a little more power? I plan on towing my Z06 to the drags next year, maybe. I also will likely spray the truck. any insight would be nice, thanks.

Which ever will be easier. I am sure the carb style, as this is what is in there now, but not against a new injected style. This also would be a crate motor.

Unless you goto a 440 or something big it would take too much work to get a 318 or 360 to run like a stock 5.7L hemi can, for cheaper. You can get a 390hp 360 for less, but I doubt that will be much good for towing.

Mopar sells crates of the 5.7L both a carb and a fuel injection version. I did see on that Overhaulin show of Chip Foose's, they took a 60's Dodge car, (can't remember the model) a new fuel injection crate 5.7 and mated it to a 727 tranny. Seemed like everything bolted right on up, so I can only imagine you could stuff the same into your truck. Not sure about engine mounts cross members and all that other stuff lining up. Probably need a new drive shaft too.

The big problem with Dodges, is they just aren't as cheap to do this custom stuff to like a Chevy. Almost 9K for the 5.7L MPI crate.

The other idea is keep a close eye on ebay, you can get a 5.7 engine tranny/everything for as cheap as 4K out of a late model truck.
