Question Questions?? 05 Ram Daytona

Im new to this forum that my friend turned me to. I recently started taking a real big interest in my truck. I have decided to keep it for a while so I need help on deciding what to do to it. I have a 2005 Ram Daytona, tonneau cover, SRT 22's. I haven't done anything to it yet except for a cai because I haven't been able to get clear answers from the dealerships or friends. What kind of exhaust does this truck have? Borla or no?? What about the rear end? Locking or limited slip? what are some good mods to start off with?

First off, welcome to the site, I'm one for the Dodge forum Mods. Yes, the Daytona comes with a factory installed Borla cat-back. Changing it out for another aftermarket system will change the sound but you'll probably get zero performance gain from doing it. I beleive the Daytona's come with a factory limited slip rear end, nothing different from the other Rams. First mod I would do is a Superchips programmer, it's a very good bang for the buck. Lowered my 0-60 and 1/4 mile times by .5 seconds plus it just makes the truck drive so much better. Some guys are doing cams and installing 4.56 gears. With the tranny having a deep second OD, the 4.56 really don't hurt much on the freeway unless you drive over 75 mph, then they will hurt you mpg. Start there and see how the truck feels.

Not all Daytona or Rumble Bees came with limited slip even. Dad's Rumble Bee had an open diff from the factory.

If it doesn't mention "Sure-Grip" somewhere then you've got an open-diff peg-legger. Sorry.

My truck said 3.92 and that was it, it has a peg leg rear end. Look at the rearend itself, on the passenger side near the brake, mine has a sticker wrapped around the axel that says "9.25 open". Which means I have an open rearend, if it's an LS rear, it says something different but I don't remember exactly what it says. I didn't mean to imply that they all came with a Limited Slip rear end, I mean't if it did, it wasn't anything different than the factory rearend that all the other Rams come with. Sorry for the confusion.

If you jacked up the rearend and spun the passenger side tire forward and the driver side tire also went forward, you have a limited slip rearend. If the driver side tire went backwards (opposite) of the passenger side tire, then you have an open rearend end (that's what mine does).
