So my wife drove this thing once and fell in love with it. She liked it allot and her 07 335i had a few issues I really didn’t wanna deal with, mostly non working headlights from a bad footwell module (yes there’s a Ecu that controls the headlights, they **** out, cost like $6-700 to replace and have to be programmed to the car) ended up selling her car, my insight, my Escalade and I was down to my two s10’s with only one of those being a reliable road worthy vehicle at the moment so I started searching for a suv for myself as a backup rig/ comfy stock car to drive. I lucked out and ended up picking up this 2000 grand Cherokee for $800. Heater doesn’t work due to a blend door failure (super common on wjs) I ordered up some parts for it. Leaving it at stock ride height, gonna tune it on hptuners, probably put e fans on it, reprogram the trans to a 5 speed from the 4 speed that was in the 99-00 Jeep’s. The later 5 speed autos will cruise 70mph at 2000 rpm. They are the same trans just different programming. It needs some love here and there but body wise is very straight with very few flaws for the age. Interior is mostly good just needs cleaned and the drivers door panel replaced. Its a 4.7l, Quadra drive awd (limiter slip front and rear diffs) should go anywhere I wanna go in Oregon and be comfy, hoping to pull low to mid 20 mpgs out of it once tuned with some timing added in light throttle. Pretty stoked about it though.

My kid helping me wash it. Still training him on how to use a pressure washer, he still thinks it’s a toy lol.

Not bad for $800.

long term goals would be make it look like the European wj’s just because you see these lifted all the time and doing something a little different appeals to me. I’d like to find a matching 04 front bumper and grill for it and add fender side markers like this.

Yeah cars and stuff have been going for pretty cheap around here the last few months. It was a nice addition and will be a nice dailyable rig once I get tags on it. Just got a new kenwood Bluetooth head unit for $50 today and also got a key fob for it and programmed it using the doorman key fob programmer. It was amazing how easy it was to do and that it worked right off the bat.

well ls swap is done, lol. Roof rack is deleted, rear is debadged and buffed out. Picking up some 2014 grand Cherokee 18” wheels with good tires today for it, should be about 1” larger diameter as well as an inch wider. It was actually super hard to find a set of wheels And tires to run on it without lifting it. Also installed some in channel window visors.

made about a 6 hour round trip to bend Oregon today to pick up these 2014 wk2 grand Cherokee wheels. They have pretty much brand new 265/60/18 linglong (actual name lol)Ching Chong Chinese tires on them but they seem to be ok quality. I feel like these wheels really nailed the look I wanted to go for, sort of that early 2000’s European sport suv before **** got real and merica’ started making some real power. I have some amber markets on the way to put in the Fender’s and the rest of the parts are pretty much to fix broken crap on the truck like the hatch struts, hood struts, hvac stuff..etc

Realized tonight that I think I wanna ls swap this Jeep. I wanted to do it to my 99 back when I had it before I sold it for the Escalade but I didn’t have the knowledge or confidence that I do now with the ls swappage. Most likely just gonna source a donor vehicle to part out. I’d really like a 6.0l with a 4l80e so the search is gonna start now for a cheapish 2500hd. There was a 2500 suburban on offerup for 3k asking price. I’d like to get something cheap enough to make most of my money back on it.
