It's a 0.020" over 5.7 block with a 6.1 steel crank thats offset ground to a honda journal size to a stroke of 3.795. The top end is ported 6.1 heads and a 6.1 intake. It's the same displacement as a 6.1 at 370 CI but it's done with stroke instead of bore like the6.1 is.

On the Hemi thing the original Hemi was the first gen 331, 354, 392 so you could make the same argument why they call a 426 a hemi since it wasn't the first gen of hemis. I guess thats what mopar named it. If they want to market it as a hemi then thats what we'll call it.

GM made a new engine and called it an LT1.

stew, hemi has to do with induction.

no matter what i do to my motor, it's still a modular motor.


truck runs good, still got some catchin' up to do to the mod motors, tho!
goals and challenges are what makes it worth it!

The LS1 stroked to a 383 is still an LS1. It is now a stroked LS1.

LT1 bored and stroked to 383 is still an LT1

I have a 454 Mark IV Big Block bored and stroked to 497ci but it is still a "Big Block"

I agree on the big block thing, you aren't changing the block. A 6.1L Hemi is what it is because of the heads. If you went with aftermarket heads, it would just be a current gen mopar small block. As for the LS1's, that is nothing more than an RPO for the engine, not it's name. A 383 LS1 would be a 383 LS1 or Gen III sb based. A 383 LT1 is just a Gen 2 sb that is bored and stroked.

,thanks,dynoed on mustang at na 412rwhp & 440tq ,i hit it with just a 100 shot & made add. 96 rwhp & 100ftlbs of tq,it loves the juice ,i have not wieghed my truck ,the scales have not been working at rr on tnt night , i will guess ar 4400 to 4600 with me in it
