I thought I read b4 that .1 in the 60' = .2 in the 1/4 mi overall (or just double the 60" drop to compute 1/4 mi improvement). Like how 100# = .1. So, it appears I should be using .1 =.15 in 1/4 instead.
So if I hit 1.8 60', likely it's on DR's, if not slicks. Assuming 1.8, can one calculate the apx. 1/4 (or is it too variable w/o HP/ TQ, etc.)? Isn't a 1.6 = a 12 sec machine (how deep in 12's IDK)?
they are all just general guidelines. dont try and wrap your mind around the ricer math too much when i was in the mid 12/low 13 range, .10 in the 60' equated to roughly .20 in the 1/4. once i got into the low 12/mid 11 range, the changes in the 60' didnt equate to as much in the 1/4 BUT i still believe that 90% of a race is based in the first 60'. at a certain point it gets alot harder to pick up the tenths as easily as it was in the mid 12 and 13 second range. little tricks like the short belt just about stop working after a certain power level. short belt a 13.9 truck and drop a tenth instanty. short belt a mid 11 truck and lose .02 off of your time.
