Default 1st time test and tune results

Went to the track for the first time today to see what my truck runs. Mods are 6.0/ NX 150 wet shot/ tsp 224/ 3k stall/ 3.73's/ black bear tuned and bolt ons. In an ext cab 4x4 on 305/50/20's

My best time NA was 14.6 and spray was 13.6 both spinning off the line. 60' was around 2.2. All runs were in 2wd.

Wondering if this is what i should be running and what i should do (besides 4x4 launch) to see the 12's.

Thanks!

Take off the heavy wheels & tires for track duty and you'll shave a couple of tenths. Launch in 4x4 for traction, and leave it in for the whole run.

When are you spraying?

IF 12s are more important then making sure the trans holds together then turn your "on" rpms down to 2800. That alone with 4x4 traction should net you very low 13s. Then lighter wheels and tires might get you the 12.99 you are looking for.

I would not spray below 3000 rpms with a stock bottom end.

Well if you know much about nitrous his 3000 stall will flash to 3200-3500 spraying a 150 shot out of the hole. So setting it at 2800 just confirms it will be spraying from the line.

Also he wouldn't be the first, and sure as hell won't be the last to spray stock bottom ends bellow 3000 rpm. I sprayed my 230,000+ engine many times out of the hole with a 2800 stall.

Just because you read the instructions, doesn't mean you have a clue what you are talking about in the real world. The engine isn't any concern(well like less then 5%) over the trans especially.

Someone must have whizzed in your Cheerios. If you use your reading comprehension it says "I" if you want to spray at idle more power to you. I guarantee if you go around and ask some big name shops they will agree with me, some may even agree with you too. Rather you believe it or not this is a public forum and last I checked I'm entitled to MY opnion. Have a nice day.

To the OP sorry for the bs in your thread.

Funny as it sounds I used to spray a stock 350 with a fairly healthy street cam and headers with a 125 shot @ 2000 many times. I know, I know, and I knew then ha ha. Not a good practice so I changed the chip to 2500 lol. I started with 3000 but I just had to see! I thought the drag radials were gonna spin on the rims! Believe it or not I never hurt that little motor and it was just a cheap stock rebuild no arps or anything! Still not the best practice by any means.

I would be more apt to spray a motor with a metal intake below 3000 but I have seen 2 cars with plastic/composite intakes blow up from fuel puddling up from spraying at to low of an rpm.
