Couldnt see the take off but 9s on irs is damm good, there are quite a few of these cobras around here that seems to be there weak spot, im sure with a little work they can do real well but all stock with just a sticky tire they were nothing like these new mustangs are, if you watch the vid of the 11.7 boss it looks like a vary smooth take off for doing 1.6s.

My first ever post. I will introduce myself later today, but the statement above that Ford beats Chevy in their cars and engine tech is crazy!!!! A base model LS3 vette with the same mods would dust the shhh out of a boss 302. And maybe we forgot about the LS7 and LS9

So you're one of those guys. Do you know how long OHC engines have been around?

New stangs run hard, no doubt. I'd still take a 5th gen anyday. A cam swap budget on a new mustang would put FI on the 5th gen.

People are already shitting themselves over the Boss. The Z28 still hasn't hit the streets.

Stupid *** first post if you ask me. Why would you try to compare a vette to a stang? That's apples to oranges. I have a forged 370 RCSB, and a supercharged DOHC 4 valve mod motor car sitting in the garage that puts down 779/862 on PUMP gas. Stock block/stock UNPORTED blower. Sorry to burst everyone's bubbles, but the DOHC 4 valve motors are gonna be the way to go for power. The ls7 was originally supposed to be a DOHC motor, but was too expensive to design

Hey CHILLLL, I'm sure your mod motor is badass but I'm absolutley comparing a base model C6 LS3 to the boss 302 mustang in discussion here. If you were paying attention to the current going sales price of the boss mustang you would realize you can buy the vette for the same price.... Equal prices means comparing apples to apples

A burly man. It still goes back towhat eveyone is saying. Your comparing a 6.2 vs 5.0. A lot less cubes. And alo lighter car. I have respect for the new 5.0 because u can't beat a factory forged motor that spins well past 7k. And still have a 4yr warranty. I'm just saying.

Price aside a corvette and a mustang have never been in the same class. Still not a fair comparison

Hey man I like you and I don't want you to take this the wrong way, you made a good point on the displacement, but if you want to compare then you need to remember, the 5.0 has 3 more cams and phaser's (that not only adjust cam timing but also LSA), 16 more valves, half a point more compression, and headers... I would say that makes up for the displacement difference.

^ thats EXACTLY why the mod motors are superior. LS motors are awesome, and they make remarkable numbers for being a pushrod motor, but they are slowly becoming outdated. Ford WILL make bigger displacement DOHC V8 motors, then GM will have to do something to even come close to compete.

You do realize how much more power an ls7 or ls9 would make from the factory if it were a DOHC 4 valve?
