2012 boss 302 on drag radial!!!

Obviously all of us here are gearheads... And I already said earlier that I am impressed with the new 5.0 motors, especially the forged components! I just think the LS motors ability to make some crazy low end torque and high HP is incredible. I do not think however that ford is going to make big cube DOHC motors. They seem to really like the smaller turbo motors... Haha
I don't really care who makes it or what it is, I'm impressed by anything that is fast. One of the fastest cars I've ever been in was 700 AWHP Mitsubishi EVO and it was badass!!

I don't really have an opinion on superiority from one to the next, but what I do know is its a lot cheaper for me to only have to buy one cam as opposed to 2 or even 4 cams depending on SOHC or DOHC, and my little ol' pushrod 6.2L will stomp a mud whole in a raptor with the SOHC 6.2L, I'm just saying, <<<(when is the appropriate time to use this?)

4 valve 4 cam engines might do ok out of the box but someone tell me what your going to go after the boltons? Like ford has always been you will spend 5k in your motor for what 2k does on an ls, A fully bolted ls3 will make almost 500 hp. And why cant you compare a boss with a c6?? A gt500 has 550hp and still gets stomped by a 505hp z06, and what do we compare the zr1 to??

Holy **** people please, PLEASE stop comparing a stang to a vette. They are not in the same class. A GT500 weighs in at 4000+ lbs with a driver, I would know. A vette weighs maybe 3500lbs with a driver depending on what model vette. You compare a MUSTANG TO A CAMARO. If you wanna take a mod motor ford in the same class as a Z06 or ZR1 to use for a comparison use a GT.
And just an FYI the GT500 only has about $4k in bolt ons and puts down 779/862 whp/wtq on pump.

To top it off, if I'm not mistaken, Corvette came out in 1953, and was CHEVROLET's FIRST real sports car, and FORD finally answered 11 years later with their first real sports car to challenge the Corvette, a 1964 MUSTANG

You can pull all the comparisons out you want, just because people do it doesn't mean it's fair. The cars get compared bevause of HORSEPOWER FIGURES. Lets compare an M5 to a corvette, because the horsepower numbers are similar, and call it fair. Get real. They are two different types of cars end of story. Dont believe me, why don't you google that while you're at it too.

So basicly you're saying that you can't compare any Ford with any Chevy? Because not one Chevy or Ford has the same displacement, horsepower, suspension, weight or anything for that matter! That is the sole purpose for comparisons! To compare 2 DIFFERENT vehicles with eachother. I sure as hell wouldn't compare a ZR1 with a Thunderbird today and think its fair... Anyway, we could argue this all day, so let's just call a truce and agree to disagree. We're all HP junkies after all

Cant wait to see the Supercharged 6.2 Camaro for 2012. 550rwhp but that is a 6.2L motor with a supercharger only making 90 more crank HP than a little NA 302...
When Chevy and Dodge get smart they will go OHC for performance and efficiency for cars and small diesel V8's for efficiency and torque for trucks.
All manufacturers are only level on one field with regards to HP per CI and that is Nascar based on the old OHV blocks.
