Default 4.8 5 speed track time (new best in the truck)

15.1005 @ 92.88 mph, with a 2.2113 60'

Last pass of the night was a my best pass. Shifted the best i could and the fastest i could, so there could be more in her, but until i get an auto or (never going to happen) new NV3500 and clutch. We'll never know.

Nice..! What's going on with the 4l80e swap? Is it still in the works? ...You'll really love that 6.0 when you get it in. I'd seriously kill myself if I ever had to drive a 4.8 again. The damn thing couldn't even go up a hill on the highway and hold speed without downshifting

Yeah, i am looking for a job right now so all projects are stopped. But that is the plan, 6 liter, and 4l80, in no particular order.

I forget the exact time, but my fastest 1/4 pass was right at 101mph.
That was last Feb and by this Feb I hope to have the 4L80E in. The nv3500 will not shift past 5400rpms w/ boost. Currently I am only running 6lbs... what a waste..

Once I get the tranny in and make a few passes I will let you know how the 4.8 does w/ 10lbs in AUTO.

I am thinking it would be a horible idea to put the 4l80E behind that 4.8. Going to all but stop the motor with it's weight! You said no particular order so I don't know if you plan to buy a motor and trans install as you get each, or buy them when you can afford it and istall when you have both.

LOL, and I can claim I am the fastest ext cab with only intake, exhaust, and tune. I would have figured a manual trans 4.8 reg cab would be a little faster.

I still say the track had a malfunction when you ran haha. I'm so jealous your truck runs faster than mine and I have a cammed 5.3

Congrats...For a comparison my 99 4.8 a4 rcsb GMC ran a 14.72 back in 02 . I had the same mods as you except no cam, and slp 1.85 rockers..
-should be .4 to .7 quicker with an auto...

I dont think there will be any issues, i know its heavy, but i have seen many people swap to the 80e N/A at many power levels and they noticed slower off the line, but faster up top. Also the convertor i am going to get is the 35lb billet from circle d (when i have the cash) so that will help.

Have you ever shifted a rather worn nv3500? Enough said

Track was hooking amazing, I was on street tires, and i dont launch it hard because i dont want to break something (clutch mainly) Same night a truck that ran about .4 faster then me at the track, i had a nose on him on a highway pull...so take that as you will haha.
