Default anyone used 16x8 on slicks?

I have always used 16x10 on some 28"Hoosiers and has always worked very well for me, but this year i would like to try some 16x8 and try to use those to avoid all the rubber getting all over the truck like with the 16x10.....

I have seen people down in RGV that use the 16x8 and net very nice 60's but all of them are in RCSB, i have also seen them use stock 16's on the Hoosier and also get nice 60's but again that is on the RCSB, us ECSB guys dont have that nice weight transfer like them. do you think i can really get away with a 16x8 wheel, I want to keep my 60' down where its always been (1.68), would that xtra meat to the ground really help? i have search for some 16x9 but cant seem to find any which will probably help a little more..

I use 28x10x16 Hoosiers.....

I'm in the same boat man. I can't use my 16x10s because the backspacing sucks and no one makes a high offset 10" wide wheel in a 16" rim(without spending huge money).

It would be much easier just to buy some 16x8s and run those if they will work.

Yea don't get me wrong. I have nothing to add on the matter. I could only dream of cutting a 1.6 60'.

I just meant to add that I would love to be able to run an 8" wide rim since there is much more available that will tuck.

the hoosiers we use on the 16" wheels are junk to some other options we can get with 15" wheels.

15" will be lighter, give you more side wall, give you the option to go to a wrinkle wall tire, give you the option to go to a softer compound if you want to stick with hoosier...15 is where its at IMO. were stuck to 1 tire with 16's and the compound is hard as hell in comparison to others.
